Mitchell Voss – Managing Partner

Mr. Voss, Founder and CEO of Windmass, is responsible for the overall management, operations, and strategy of the firm. Mr. Voss is involved in all aspects of the Firm’s investment activities and provides leadership related to the Firm’s investment activities in the commercial real estate sector. He has accumulated over 12 years of experience in commercial real estate across; investment banking, structured finance, asset management, and acquisitions, which led to Mr. Voss launching his own Real Estate Private Equity Firm. Prior to Windmass, Mitchell was a Vice President in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Group, where he focused on origination CMBS, balance sheets, and bridge loans.

Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mr. Voss held positions at UBS Realty, as an acquisitions and asset management associate performing both development and acquisitions along with asset management on multifamily, industrial, office and retail; Deutsche Bank’s Real Estate Structured Finance Group; Centerline Capital with a focus on multi-family lending and due diligence; and at Lake Pacific Partners in the private equity group focused on consumer products.

Mr. Voss received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The University of Denver and a Certificate of Commercial Real Estate from Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business.

 

 


 

Asset Management Team

Matt Auste 

Mr. Auste is the Head of Asset Management with WindMass Capital, who recently joined from PGIM Real Estate, where he oversaw the buildout of the asset management platform for the inaugural domestic high yield portfolio worth over $4 billion in AUM. Prior to joining PGIM Real Estate, Mr. Auste was Vice President of Asset Management in the Real Estate Specialties Group at Bank OZK where he was involved in the asset management of a $1 billion portfolio comprised of ground-up construction and repositioning loans across all major property types throughout the U.S. Prior to Bank OZK, Mr. Auste was Vice President in the Real Estate Investment Banking team at Goldman Sachs and completed over $25 billion of CMBS debt issuances and closed over $2 billion in repo financing facilities for various debt funds and mortgage REITS focused on pre-stabilized assets. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mr. Auste was on the leveraged finance team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Mr. Auste began his career in New York at RBC Capital Markets on the Securitization Finance team where he focused on public and privately issued ABS, RMBS, CMBS, and ABCP multi-seller conduit transactions in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Mr. Auste received his BBA in Finance and MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. 

 

Ross Cunningham 

Mr. Cunningham is the Vice President of Asset Management with WindMass Capital, who recently joined from PGIM Real Estate, where he assisted in asset management buildout for the high yield portfolio comprised of bridge, transitional, and ground-up construction debt. Prior to PGIM Real Estate, Mr. Cunningham spent six years with Goldman Sachs in their Real Estate Investment Banking team, specializing in CMBS securitizations for conduit, SASB, agency, and CRE CLOs. Mr. Cunningham holds a BS in Mathematics, BA in Economics, and BBA in Real Estate Finance from Texas Christian University. 

 

Ethan Calverley 

Mr. Calverley is an associate with WindMass Capital, he primarily assists with management and optimization of current assets and supports in due diligence activities associated with dispositions. Mr. Calverley holds a BS in Finance from Southern Methodist University. 

 


 

Acquisition Team

Jack Bessette 

Mr. Bessette is a Vice President with WindMass Capital. His primary focus includes deal sourcing, underwriting, raising debt and equity capital, and acquisition of multi-family assets across the state of Texas as well as managing all efforts related to dispositions. Mr. Bessette has worked at WindMass Capital since 2019 when WindMass owned 500 units, has been promoted to VP, and now heads the acquisition team. Prior to WindMass Capital, Mr. Bessette worked at Presidium Group on their Acquisitions and Development team and focused on value-add multifamily acquisitions in Dallas and Fort Worth. Mr. Bessette holds a BBA in Finance and a BA in History from Southern Methodist University. 

  

Brian Liekhus 

Mr. Liekhus is an Analyst with WindMass Capital. He began working for the firm in June 2020 as an intern before joining the team full time as an analyst in June 2021, shortly after his graduation from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Liekhus holds a BBA in Finance with a Concentration in Real Estate Finance and a minor in history from Southern Methodist University where he graduated in the spring of 2021. He primarily focuses on sourcing, underwriting, and acquiring multifamily properties across the state of Texas and assists in all aspects of acquisitions and dispositions.

Christiana Kelley 

Christiana Kelley joined WindMass Capital in 2022 as an Investor Relations Associate. Christiana graduated from SMU and excelled in her time at Merrill Lynch Private Wealth. Christiana works closely with Acquisitions and Asset Management. 

 


 

Office Manager

Sarah Saadeh 

Sarah Saadeh, joined WindMass Capital in May 2022. Prior to WindMass Capital Sarah co-lead the Closing department at Leon Capital Group and was in charge of all dispositions. Prior to Leon Capital Group, Sarah was part of the Goldman Sachs Real Estate Investment Banking Closing department.
